Graphic designer. Art director. Artist. Writer.

I’ve worked for and with businesses and organizations large and small, both for-profits and not-for-profits, and have consistently produced quality work while successfully meeting the challenges of small budgets requiring innovative solutions and small staffs requiring the wearing of many hats. Over the years I’ve developed a set of skills that may have me discussing the distinction between over/under and more than/less than with writers, talking ink with printers and critiquing the kerning of headline text with the design folks within a span of minutes.

A list of favorite things might include (in no particular order):
Casablanca, 12 Angry Men, The Shawshank Redemption, Serenity, Deadpool. The Pixies. Lava lamps. Wilco. Catch-22. Jean Miro. Angel Olsen. Imported Italian balsamic vinegar. Marc Bolan and T. Rex. Oysters...by the bushel. Kenny Burrell. Typography. Alexander Calder. Bonnaroo 2012. Blue cheese. Letterpress printing. Hatch Show Print in Nashville, Tennessee. Photography. My Morning Jacket. Cream cheese, red onion, tomato, capers, cracked pepper and lox on a toasted sesame seed bagel. Bonnaroo 2015. Lucinda Williams. The life-promising scent of dark, fertile earth freshly turned by the spade. Cassandra Wilson. A bright, fruity pinot noir. The Velvet Underground. My Jim Fineman blue fern motif coffee mug. Earl Gray tea. Parmigiano reggiano...

In my personal life I am the wayward uncle of two beautiful, talented and extremely smart teenaged nieces, while at home I am the well-trained manservant to two willful feline princesses, Sophie and Sassy.
